Formnext Frankfurt, November 2017

Formnext will be in Frankfurt on 14-17th November.

Formnext powered by tct is the leading trade fair for additive manufacturing and the next generation of intelligent manufacturing solutions.

It focuses on the efficient realization of parts and products, from their design to serial production.

The conference set to take place alongside the exhibition will also highlight the latest trends and issues in additive manufacturing, along with clever ways in which it can be integrated into process chains in industrial production.

The conference’s content is designed by Rapidnews/tct + Personalize. formnext powered by tct is organized by Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Additive manufacturing is the official industry standard term (ASTM F2792) for all applications of the technology.

It is defined as the process of joining materials to make objects from 3D model data, usually layer upon layer, as opposed to subtractive manufacturing methodologies.

Synonyms are additive fabrication, additive processes, additive techniques, additive layer manufacturing, layer manufacturing, and freeform fabrication.

The primary applications of additive fabrication are design/modeling, fit and function prototyping, and direct part production.

Around the world, AM is changing the way organizations design and manufacture products. When used correctly, it can save impressive amounts of time and money.

Companies maintain that AM has helped trim weeks, even months, of design, prototyping, and manufacturing time, while avoiding costly errors and enhancing product quality.

The range of PA technologies available today is able to apply to polymeric materials (plastics, resins, biopolymers, …) as well as metals (steel, titanium, bronze, precious metals, etc.), using different processes deposition and welding of raw materials.

The technology known as Selective Laser Melting, which is one of the most promising in the field of additive manufacture of metal products, is the main object of our research.

The technique consists in point-to-point merging of a powdered metal bed, layered after layer – the finished object, and employs very powerful and focused laser light.

SLM is currently able to reach resolutions of the order of tens of μm and densities comparable to those of metal parts produced by conventional techniques.

This type of process also allows you to build pieces made up of moving parts, ordered micro-structures, and internal cavities of any size and geometry.

Formnext articolo

This year at Formnext presents “am4U”, a platform that combines opportunities for careers, networks and personal contacts for the additive manufacturing industry.

This combination enables the event to offer a wide range of possibilities and detailed information not only for companies but also for professional newcomers, experts and executives interested in the exciting sector.

In addition to a career platform with a Careers Day on 16th November, the “am4u” area Hall also offers an international cooperation exchange, as well as the VDMA organized forum “AM – Added Value For The Industry” on November 14th.

As well as a job wall, the Careers Day on Thursday, 16 November 2017 will provide an array of opportunities for gathering information and making new contacts.
