Climate change as an increasingly present theme also in everyday discussions and the prospect of being able to do something concretely by each of us is very important for each of us.
In Italy there is a startup that has patented a dynamic regulation system for the heating, cooling and ventilation systems of buildings. And this is the first practice to be done to do something concrete for climate change.
It’s called Enerbrain and its work allows you to improve air quality, reduce consumption and CO2 emissions thanks to a sensor system and the use of algorithms. All controlled in real time.
Marco Martellacci (who is a theoretical physicist and later co-founder of Enerbrain) was looking for a system to regulate the temperature of the home heating automatically for both the coldest and hottest days in order to reduce consumption.
They would have called it home economics a few hundred years ago.
Marco dismantled his boiler and developed an algorithm that allowed him to achieve a 30% reduction in costs.
After the first experiments and the first proposals to customers, he understood that the idea would work and so he also gathered Filippo Ferraris, Giuseppe Giordano and Francesca Freyria.
Today, five years after that day, not only is Enerbrain at the forefront of the virtuous advance of those who can help contain climate change, but it has 45 employees and has offices in Tokyo, Barcelona and soon in Dubai.
Last year it received a loan of € 2 million and last November it won the Marzotto Prize which supports innovative companies with a total prize pool of over € 2.5 million.
It is worth, now, immediately, to investigate who they are and above all what they do in Enerbrain on their official website since the emergency relating to climate change concerns us closely. Everyone of us.
