The robots in the fourth industrial revolution

The robots as main characters of the fourth industrial revolution.

There are no discounts, it’s a fact. The great technology progress will force us to improve our skills and acquire and develop new ones to respond to the demands of the future work world.

McKinsey, regarding the future, estimated that:

  • 49% of work activities could be automated by 2055
  • in Italy the automation will impact 30% on 60% of the work tasks (on 10 types of work, 6 will be largely performed by the machines)
  • the workers who will have to deal with automation are between 49% and 51% of the workforce in Italy (11 million people).
  • What does not have to intimidate regarding the robots that are the main characters of the fourth industrial revolution is quite simple.

If the rules of the game change, it is wise to equip oneself to know them first and then manage them.

Cornerstone has published the Future Skills Map that highlights the knowledge to be possessed to emerge in the future work environment: rapid changes and constant presence of technology,

They are therefore skills that everyone can learn to make sure that they can happily coexist with the robots protagonists of the fourth industrial revolution.

Among these, one of the most important is that of knowing how to connect the dots.

Often one feels sucked into a vortex and focuses only on the details when instead, taking a step backwards, it is possible to observe the scheme in its complexity. At this point it is only the human being who can simplify it.

Just as any progress concerning artificial intelligence is still very far from the human dimension that is empathy: an extremely important quality that must not be neglected but increasingly refined.

And just on artificial intelligence (which is the thing that suggests us the posts on Facebook, we recommend the TV series on Netflix or the next product to be purchased on Amazon) we must study. Study it to understand how this works for us and how we work for you. Working with machines does not mean just writing codes: artificial intelligence systems learn from our behavior: to get the maximum from them, we need to understand their intelligence.

In short, the robots main characters of the fourth industrial revolution? Yes, but they are not replacing human beings: simply robots work with humans in order to build a better tomorrow.
