Formnext was held from 19 to 22 November 2019 at Frankfurt am Main. It is the leading trade fair dedicated to additive manufacturing, industrial production processes and intelligent manufacturing.
“Formnext 2019 is not yet another 3D printing show, but presents the innovative production of the future. The fair is open to all materials and focuses on the entire industrial production process through the use of AM technologies. The event also pays particular attention to teaching, practical experiences and the transfer of know-how to ensure the best possible content on the benefits that can be drawn from the industries that use the Additive Mnufactoring, both for customized production and in series ”he explained Sascha F. Wenzler, Formnext area manager.
Formnext is a growing reality: 34,532 specialists and managers (+ 28% over 2018) visited it and appreciated the offer of 852 exhibitors including companies such as 3D Systems, Additive Industries, HTS, Addup, Arburg, BigRep, Carbon , Carbon, Desktop Metal, DMG Mori, Envisiontec, EOS, ExOne, Farsoon, Formlabs, GE additive, HP, Keyence, Markforged, Materialize, Matsuura, Prodways, Renishaw, Ricoh, Siemens, Sisma, SLM Solutions, Stratasys, Trumpf, Voxeljet , Xerox, XJet, but also BASF, Covestro, Cubicure, Dyemansion, Evonik, Incus, LMI, Sigma Labs.
Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext, commented: “Even in his fifth year, Formnext continues his impressive success story. Additive manufacturing has certainly conquered the industry. We will continue to accompany, support and advance this development as trade fair organizers “. Visitors also appreciated the transition to the 11 and 12 exhibition halls, both modern and architecturally sophisticated.
The winners of the Purmundus Challenge were also announced and the first prize went to the “Stealth Key” project conceived by Alejandro Ojeda of UrbanAlps AG. Using Stealth technology, Ojeda has created a physical system of keys and cylinders in which the code is hidden under strong and narrow projections. In this way, the key cannot be uneven and therefore maximum security is offered (in addition to the fact that it does not depend on digital systems).
Registration for the sixth edition of Formnext is already open: it will be held from 10 to 13 November 2020.
